Last year’s highest-grossing blockbuster, Spider-Man: No Way Home, is returning to theaters with an extended cut. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony announced on Friday that a fan cut of the movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version, will be in theaters on Friday, September 2nd, Labor Day weekend. The film was Sony’s most significant success, and fans can look forward to seeing it again with additional and extended scenes not seen during its original run. The announcement was given via Twitter on the movie’s official account. The clip features the three Spideys (Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield), and it’s cut with Garfield saying, “We should do this again.” To which Magure replies, “You got it.”

The Big Success of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third highest-grossing film of all time in America and the sixth-highest grossing film globally. It built up significant anticipation by teasing Garfield and Maguire’s return to the franchise. Fans took great delight in seeing the three Peter Parkers together, and the film caused more viewers to appreciate the previous Spider-Man movies. While 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man wasn’t particularly popular when it was released, it was recently released on Netflix and is one of the most viewed films on the streaming service. Some fans hope to see Garfield return and a third Amazing Spider-Man movie.

Will The  ‘No Way Home’ Extended Cut Be Another Big Seller?

While Spider-Man: No Way Home is a film many love, will people flock back to theaters just for an extended cut? While the momentum building up the original release won’t be the same, the film is still viral, receiving much praise for its performances, storytelling, and tribute to the franchise. So perhaps this will be a box-office success.

We’ll see when Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version comes out on Labor Day weekend.
