Beyond Good & Evil 2 is on track for a beta release next year in 2019, according to creator Michel Ancel.
Ancel took to his Instagram to reply to fans commenting on concept art from the upcoming open-world multiplayer action game from Ubisoft Montpelier over the weekend. Though we know the game is a long way off from being in a completed state, Ancel was quick to announce to eager players that they may be getting their hands on it sooner than they think.
The creator told fans that the “aim” was to release the game in beta at the end of 2019, though Ancel didn’t offer any further details. With that in mind, you might want to follow him on the social media site, especially as this account posts several updates related to Beyond Good & Evil pretty often.
Ancel didn’t offer any additional commentary on what to expect from the beta, but the ambitious game has a wealth of content players could potentially explore. The prequel to 2003’s Beyond Good & Evil takes place a few generations ahead of the cult classic, and players can generate their very own character with which they can explore the universe. Planet exploration has been confirmed, as well as a customizable spaceship to cruise around in.
Unfortunately, there’s still no release date in sight for the game, much like some of the biggest names at E3 2018. But if a beta is projected for next year, at least we could be on the right path for one.
