Initiate exosuit carnage in ExoCorps, a fresh first-person and third-person multiplayer arena title from independent developer Gingerbred. In the year 2040, specific peacekeeping individuals are recruited into the future of space warfare. They train to be the best if they wish to be a part of these forces, the training being rigorous and difficult. Only the best become members of this task force. With action-packed sequences commencing in a heartbeat, much of the gameplay is geared toward the concept of “hide-and-seek”.

In ExoCorps, you take control of a highly advanced exosuit, the functions of which well beyond our capabilities. Part battle suit, part jet fighter, players can travel at rapid speeds across vast locations. Along with a multi-functioning rifle known as the Multirifle, the Exosuit comes packed with lock-on missiles that can mean the difference between losing a battle and living to tell the tale.

With ExoCorps being a multiplayer arena game, the online modes consist of Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture-the-Flag. Five arenas are available for players to battle across ExoCorps‘ universe, with player customization, LAN hosting, peer-to-peer hosting, player-hosted and dedicated servers, and offline play with or without bots.

The environments are inspired by the atmospheres and surfaces of planets from our solar system. Several pop-culture inspirations such as Starship Troopers, Top Gun, and Counter-Strike all provide ingredients for ExoCorps‘ core gameplay, with a huge emphasis on intense tactical gunplay and hard-hitting weapons.

ExoCorps makes its Early Access debut on October 9. The announcement comes after a short delay, following the developer’s desire to tweak the game further. Garin Mazaika, Co-Founder and Techincal Director at Gingerbred, had the following to say on the matter:

A player beta will be in session from September 24 to September 28 for those who wish to try out ExoCorps before it comes to Early Access.

Gingerbred is an independent team that consists of husband and wife Garin Mazaika and Rachel Fenn, along with engineer Sam Seltzer-Johnston.
