If you’re looking for a taste of some space-age shooting action, Gingerbreads’ ExoCorps is for you.

Described in the press release as a “high-flying, jetpack-fueled multiplayer shooter,” ExoCorps is now available on Steam Early Access. And the good news about it? It comes with a special 20% discount, coming to a total of $24.99.

ExoCorps takes inspiration from such third-person shooters as Counter-Strike and Tribes with its multiplayer FPS arena-style gameplay. Meanwhile, it’s aerial jetpack-powered battles take point from anime such as the Macross franchise. Combining these two elements, Gingerbread creates a unique, third-person experience.

A particularly stand-out feature in ExoCorps is your Power Management. Unlike other shooters, your health, ammo, and jet-pack all stem from the same source – your spacesuit. If you use any of these gameplay elements, it takes a bite out of your suit’s power. This means that the key to mastering the game lies in your ability to conserve power and use your suit’s functions to great effect.

It’s a shame since your Multirifle is essentially six guns in one. However, the more you shoot, the weaker you become. And the more you fly, the more detectable you are. Thus, ExoCorps encourages you to silently stalk your prey, even if loud shootouts occasionally become inevitable.

“ExoCorps has been a decade in the making, and we’re thrilled to finally unleash its first public release,” said Lead Developer, Artist and Designer Garin Mazaika in the press release. “We wanted to capture that Iron Man experience of cruising through the skies, managing a vast array of futuristic machinery while facing off against other super-powered foes. We think ExoCorps fulfills those fantasies!”

And in this ten-player multiplayer mayhem, with Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag modes available, it could very well be the case. Bolstered further by abilities such as Recon Pulse, Jammer, and Missiles, ExoCorps sounds like dangerously good fun.
