Evil Dead: The Game is out now, and it’s a prime opportunity to slay some deadites.  In the game, if you’re playing as the Survivors such as Ash Williams and his supporting cast including 3 other Ash variants, you’ll fight waves of deadites heaped upon you by an increasingly powerful Demon player.  You must fight carefully, as melee weapons use up stamina and bullets aren’t unlimited, and one of the most vital strategic assets you should check while fighting the enemy is the state of their Balance Bar.  Read on for our guide on What the Balance Bar is in Evil Dead: The Game!

Evil Dead The Game: What is the Balance Bar?

The balance bar is the white bar below the red HP bar for deadites and represents their defenses and stamina, or poise if you’re an Elden Ring player.  If you break this bar down, it can open the enemy up to finisher melee attacks, or in the case of skeleton soldiers deployed by the Necromancer, it can remove their shields and leave them highly vulnerable.  Certain melee weapons are also better suited to breaking down the balance bar, particularly blunt ones like the sledgehammer, as opposed to sharp weapons geared more toward dismemberment.  Ranged weapons will also contribute fairly well to this, but with the downside being potentially wasted ammunition.

In addition to weapons made for breaking down the enemy, you can enhance the skills for Survivors to break down balance bars, and for Demons to enhance their own.  The skills are as follows and have multiple tiers you can upgrade:

Survivors:

  • Stopping Power (Increases balance bar damage from ranged attacks) – Ash vs. Evil Dead, Ash Evil Dead 1, Ash Evil Dead 2, Annie, Arthur, Ed, Kelly, Amanda, Cheryl, Pablo
  • Seeing Stars (Increases balance bar damage from your melee attacks) – Ash vs. Evil Dead, Annie, Arthur, Scotty, Henry, Cheryl, Pablo
  • Show Up And Blow Up (Active skill, generates an explosion that damages balance bars) – Ash vs. Evil Dead unique skill
  • Haymaker (Attacks by you and the team within your radius cause more damage to basic evil units’ balance bars) – Annie unique skill
  • Slugger (Attacks by you and the team within your radius cause more damage to elite and boss evil units’ balance bars) – Annie unique skill
  • Weapon Master: Chainsaw (Chainsaw has faster attack speed, deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Ash Army of Darkness unique skill
  • Blunt Force Trauma (Increases balance bar damage from blunt weapons) – Ash Army of Darkness, Scotty, Henry
  • Stunning Strikes (Increases balance bar damage from heavy melee attacks) – Ash Army of Darkness, Scotty, Henry
  • Weapon Master: Lumberjack Axe (Lumberjack Axe has faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Scotty unique skill
  • Weapon Master: Double-Barrel (Double-Barrel has faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Ash Evil Dead 2 unique skill
  • Weapon Master: Crossbow (Crossbow has faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Ed unique skill
  • Weapon Master: Meat Hammer (Meat Hammer has faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Kelly unique skill
  • Weapon Master: Pistol (Pistol has faster attack speed and deals increased health, balance bar, and dismemberment damage) – Amanda unique skill

Demons:

  • Rock Steady: Basic
  • Rock Steady: Elite
  • Rock Steady: Boss

Each of these is available for all demons, and they essentially upgrade balance bar length for the corresponding types of units you can summon to fight the survivors.
