The start of Season 3 in Fortnite flooding the island, turning it into quite the waterfront destination. This happened just in time for summer, so Epic is bringing us the Summer Splash. The event will last from now until the end of Season 3, featuring the return of Limited Time Modes that you will know and love, and introducing some new ones.
The Fog of War, Close Encounters, Unvaulted, and Catch! LTMs will all be coming back and will be improved upon for the Summer Splash. According to Epic, brand new LTMs will kick off in a future update and include new takes on Operation: Knockout, a reel ‘em in royale, and a game of elimination-powered upgrade, which sounds dangerously fun.
Lots of skins
The Item Shop will also be getting all kinds of new skins and items to celebrate the event. There are some really fun skins in this batch, including a very nice new fan design that has made it into the game.
How to play LTMs
To play Limited Time Modes in Fortnite, all you need to do is go to the Play tab and click on Change. On the screen where you normally pick from Solos, Duos, Squads, etc., you should see the Limited Time Mode down at the bottom. Click on the icon, then click on Accept. When you get back to your lobby, just hit the big play button at the bottom right of the screen to load into the match.
At the moment, we don’t know if any special challenges are on the way for the Summer Splash event, but we will update this guide with any future information released by Epic.
