“Bling Empire” is the first American reality TV series featuring a main cast purely of Asian and Southeast Asian descent. The popular series first premiered on Netflix on January 15, 2021, and chronicled the lives of wildly wealthy Asian and Asian-American going about their insanely expensive lifestyle in Los Angeles. Described as “crazy rich Asians,” the series cast has lit up Los Angeles over the last three seasons with their glam, partying, and money-fueled drama. Following the success of the flagship series — in October 2022, Netflix announced a new spin-off, Bling Empire: New York, — set in the Big Apple. The spin-off will premiere on Friday, January 20, 2023.
The trailer of the show, released last month, teased fans to “prepare” for anything to happen. The promo clip also gave fans a glimpse of the opulence lying in wait for them to see. Notably, amongst all the chaotic display of wealth, private jets, and high fashion was a familiar face from the flagship series — Dorothy Wang. Dorothy is joined by a boisterous group of rich and sophisticated Asian-Americans, including It-girl Tina Leung. The show will introduce fans to the billionaires and power brokers that make New York so lit.
Meet The Cast
The Bling Empire: New York 2023 trailer begins with an excited Dorothy announcing, “New York City, I’m here!” Dorothy has only recently moved to New York from Los Angeles, and the trailer shows her exploring the affluent, pampered, and melodramatic lives of super-rich Asians in the city. And at the same time, she is on a personal mission to mingle with New York guys. Meanwhile, Netflix has confirmed that a total of seven cast members will feature in the upcoming season. Dorothy Wang
Dorothy, 34, was born in Beverly Hills. She is the daughter of billionaire businessman Roger Wang, the former Golden Eagle International Group. Besides being a socialite, Dorothy owns several businesses, including a champagne company, Rich and Bubbly, and a jewelry business, “Fabuluxe.” She reportedly has a net worth of roughly $10 million. Dorothy loves to travel and also has a knack for appearing in reality TV series. She has been featured in several shows over the years, including Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, Famously Single, and Fetch Me a Date. More recently, she was a cast member in season 2 of Bling Empire.

Tina Leung
Tina is a 40-year-old model who is also a blogger and fashion stylist. She was born in Hong Kong but raised in Los Angeles. She attended Bates College before majoring in acting at Bristol University. After her university education, she partnered with popular brands like Valentino, Topshop, and Loewe. Tina also launched Era, a designer vintage retail service. She currently splits her time between her businesses in Hong Kong and New York City. Tina reportedly has a net worth of $8 million.

Blake Abbie
Blake Abbie is a 32-year-old Canadian reality star and actor. He reportedly has Chinese and Scottish ancestry, and some reports claim he spent his childhood summers in Hong Kong. Blake started as a photography assistant in Paris. He began his acting career in the 2018 Chinese movie titled Meteor Garden. However, he currently works as the editor for A Magazine Curated By and System Magazine. In 2022, he made his runway debut at the 2022 New York Fashion Week, wearing a Peter Do design. He is reportedly worth $2.73 million and regularly hangs out with fellow Bling Empire star Dorothy Wang.

Lynn Ban
50-year-old Lynn Ban was born in Singapore. She is a popular figure in the jewelry sector, and many celebrities, including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga, have donned her designs. Following a forced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, Lynn focused on creating customized projects for her clients. She later tried her hands at designing resort wear and created some outfits for the Como hotel chain. At some point, Lynn created vintage goods for Barneys and was labeled as a “fairy godmother” by Rihanna. She has a reported net worth of $5.37 million.

Stephen Hung
Stephen Hung is a 63-year-old millionaire businessman who will be appearing on the series with his wife, Deborah Hung. He founded his private investment company, SH Capital Group, in 1992. He is also the vice-chairman of Rio Hotel and Casino. According to celebrity net worth, he is worth a stunning $400 million, making him the wealthiest cast member. Despite his reputation as a shrewd businessman, he is also known for his failed “The 13” hotel project. The majestic hotel project would have had 200 suites, but it never saw the light of day due to multiple delays. Its failure in 2018 caused Stephen significant losses.

Deborah Hung
Deborah Valdez-Hung, 39, is Stephen Hung’s wife, and she is of Mexican origin. The couple has two children together — Ivan and Sean. Away from her family, Deborah’s wealth comes from her lengthy modeling career and ownership of Dreammodels modeling agency. Deborah regularly features in high society events and is a known face within the upper echelon of the fashion world. Apart from her career in fashion, Deborah is also a lawyer. She has a taste for luxury and enjoys taking trips on private aircraft. Deborah also drives a hot pink Rolls-Royce with customized license plates. Richard Chang
And last but certainly not least is Richard Chang. The 58-year-old is a graduate of New York University and was director of merchandising planning at Calvin Klein and senior vice president at Sleep Spa. He currently serves as the chief growth officer of the wellness and regenerative medicine firm Hudson Medical. Richard also runs a fundraising foundation called the Lustgarten Foundation: Pancreatic Cancer Research, where he raises funds to support cancer patients, including his 74-year-old mother, who has pancreatic cancer.
