American singer Cher’s mom, Georgia Holt, is dead. The star actress died at 96 on December 10, 2022, when Cher confirmed the news via her Twitter account. Cher’s mom died, leaving behind her loved ones, including her husband, Craig Spencer, her youngest daughter, General Hospital actress Georganne LaPiere, 71, and Cher’s children, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman.

Georgia was born in 1927 in Kensett, Arkansas, and was given the name Jackie Jean Crouch at birth. Before exploring acting in the 1950s and 1960s, she competed in beauty pageantry and explored singing. She appeared in shows like I Love Lucy and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. In 2013, Dear Mom, Love Cher, a documentary about Georgia, was produced. Cher executively produced it. Later that year, Honky Tonk Woman, an album by the singer’s mother, was released.
