How to go above eight hearts with villagers in Stardew Valley
As soon as you get these characters to eight hearts, their friendship hearts freeze, and you can’t go any further. You’d need to start dating them to bring the hearts up. If you want to date any character, you need to give them a flower bouquet after eight hearts. You can propose marriage when you have 10 hearts by giving them a Mermaid’s Pendant.
How to get a Mermaids Pendant
The Mermaids Pendant can be obtained after reaching a friendship level of 10 with another character and when completing the first farmhouse upgrade. Once you’re done, you need to wait for a rainy day and cross the 300 wood repair bridge on the beach from 6am to 7pm to find the Old Mariner. You will be able to purchase the Mermaids Pendant for 5,000g from the Old Mariner.
