The 92nd Academy Awards has just wrapped up tonight, January 9th, and the results are surprising, even for the Oscars.
For starters, history was made tonight. Parasite, directed by Bong Joon Ho, has won best picture, making it the first foreign-language film to ever win the category. Not only that but Parasite also won more awards than any other film, coming away with four Oscars. By all means, Bong Joon Ho and his cast’s suitcases will be packed to the brim on their trip back to South Korea.
The Irishman, despite having 10 nominations, won no awards. Joker had the most nominations, 11, but only won two awards.
