After a brief vacation, Team Rocket is back and ready for more trouble. New shiny Pokémon will appear for a limited time in Pokémon Go to commemorate their return. While celebrating Team Rocket is probably one of the last things on trainers’ minds. However, if they cause rare, shiny Pokémon to spawn, then we’re glad to do it.

The Team Rocket update is in full swing. While initially pulled for a short day due to suspected bugs, the devious organization is back. As part of a limited event reported by Polygon, iconic Team Rocket Pokémon Ekans and Koffing have a chance to spawn in as their shiny versions. The exhibition runs until August 1 at 1 PM (PDT).

Shiny Ekans and Koffing are going to appear in the wild, raids, or from eggs. These two aren’t the only additions with the event. More traditional Rocket Pokémon will hatch from eggs with increased frequency. These include:

  • Rattata
  • Ekans
  • Sandshrew
  • Zubat
  • Meowth
  • Machop
  • Magnemite
  • Grimer
  • Gastly
  • Drowzee
  • Cubone
  • Koffing
  • Murkrow
  • Sneasel
  • Houndour
  • Poochyena

Additionally, raids will feature Pokémon believed to be significant to Team Rocket, according to the official Pokémon Go update.

Get out and get fighting, trainers. If not to stop Team Rocket, at least get the satisfaction of taking their Shadow or shiny (or both) Pokémon.
