Euro Truck Simulator 2 Heart of Russia DLC has been canceled by SCS Software due to the war in Ukraine. The developer thought that this gesture was the only possible one in the face of the violent invasion.

SCS Software has received a lot of questions from the players of the truck game about the future of Heart of Russia. So, after long deliberation, it’s time to respond to them and shed some light on the situation.

“On February 24, our Heart of Russia team was 6-8 weeks away from completing work on the highly anticipated DLC,” the developers wrote. “We were all happy with the results – we put a lot of work into making this new setting look great.”

SCS Decides Not to Release ETS 2 Heart of Russia DLC

The journeys never end in Euro Truck Simulator 2. SCS Software launches expansions like Iberia, which allows enjoying the roads of Spain and Portugal. The next destination is the Heart of Russia, centered in the northern European country.

However, the developer did not remain silent about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This invasion has led to the video game industry positioning itself in favor of the Ukrainian people and withdrawing its business from Russia. With this in mind, the team has provided an update on the release of the DLC.

It is clear that the content of Euro Truck Simulator 2 is far from seeking any political pretense, and SCS Software wants to protect “the global public from everyday controversies.”

We quite like the idea that our shared passion for a truck simulation allows people to connect, to pay a virtual visit to a neighbouring country in peace, and to enjoy a hobby that we commonly share, rather than allowing anything divisive to set us apart.”

Despite this, the developer states that when the time comes for Ukraine to rebuild and heal, they will try to find a way to release the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Heart of Russia DLC.
