The Boys writer Eric Kripke has said that The Boys season 3’s trailer is officially finished. Along with finishing, he also says that a trailer for the new season will be released “in a few weeks.”

A majority of The Boys season 3 still remains a mystery. However, Kripke is partially excited about a certain  The Boys storyline from the comic books, which will have the episode title “Herogasm.”  The showrunner confirmed back in January that “everyone dared me to make the episode. There will be no topping ‘Herogasm’. Now that I’ve seen the dailies of this thing, I’m like, what have we done? It’s just so crazy.”

Aside from the season heavily implying to revolve around a new Supe named Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles), it also hints at focusing on his super-team Playback. The finale for season 2 also hints at some major plot points and antagonists that have yet to be touched upon. Hopefully, The Boys season 3’s trailer will be able to fill us in on what to expect.

Kripke Not Keeping The Boys Fans In The Dark About Season 3

Since The Boys season 2 finished in 2020, Eric Kripke has engaged with The Boys fans on both Twitter and Instagram. He has regularly given fans progress updates on the show’s status and filming updates in regards to the new episodes.

While the first season was well-received, the praise for The Boys season 2 went through the roof. At the same time, The Boys was also the first non-Netflix show to join the Nielsen Top 10 Streaming list and be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. The show’s widespread popularity has even led to an animated spinoff that focuses on the world of out-of-control and corrupt superheroes.

The official premiere date for The Boys season 3 is June 3rd, 2022.
