Other Information About the GSP 602 Headset

Color:

One thing I really like about this headset is the fact it is not like many you see today with primarily black/silver/gray colors.  This headset is blue and brown (a golden, orange-brown).  It looks really nice and it is different.

Closed Acoustic Headset:

The closed acoustic headset design of the earpads means they are large enough to cover most ears. This is going to be a good thing when you look at the effectiveness of canceling outside noise.  It literally almost creates a seal over the ear.  At first, some might find this a little awkward.

Comfort:

The earpads not only prohibit outside noises, but they are really comfortable with the leather material that covers them.

The headband is also padded and has an adjustable pressure function to help you customize the fit to your needs. The ear cups are automatically angled with a  metal hinge joint and that along with the soft leather material and the layer of mesh the inside of the ear cup helps to keep ears cool and comfortable.

Design:

The headset is made mostly of plastic, however, it does not feel like that minimizes the quality.  It feels and appears to be a very sturdy headset.

Sound:

The sound produced by the EPOS Sennheiser GSP 602 headset is truly wonderful.  This is not completely surprising with Sennheiser, who is well-known for their products in this area.

You can get lost in the sound with no outside noise coming in and the balanced sound from low to high coming through crisp, clear and very smooth.

EPOS Sennheiser GSX 300 External USB Sound Card

When you think of sound cards, your mind does not automatically go to an external component.  Typically this is something that is built into your motherboard.  Let’s take a look and see what the EPOS Sennheiser GSX 300 has to offer.

Other Information – EPOS Sennheiser GSX 300 Sound Card

So, why do you need an external sound card?

Recommended headphone impedance

25 – 75 Ω

Sound Boost:

Upgrading your audio with this plug-and-play sound card will be an easy way to boost your sound to a high resolution 24 bit / 96 kHz stereo or 16 bit / 48 kHz 7.1 surround sound.  This will provide acoustic clarity and a truly immersive gaming experience.

The GSX 300 is an in-line upgrade between your PC and headset.  The external component itself plugs in by USB and provides a volume control as well as a smart button that controls the sound modes and profiles.  An LED indicator shows you which mode or profile you are currently using.

There are only one microphone and one headset input.

EPOS Gaming Suite:

The EPOS Gaming Suite for Windows (proprietary) allows you to customize sound profiles in 7.1 Surround Sound.  You can create different audio profiles and control any background noise through the noise gate control.

You must have this installed to be able to toggle between profiles.

Verdict:

The EPOS Sennheiser GSP 602 Headset is a change in design from your typical gaming headset which intrigued me from the beginning.  If you add the features and fact it is made by a reputable company and appears and feels to be quality, I don’t think you can go wrong with this headset.

The price is a little steep but a little lower than comparable headsets.

The EPOS Sennheiser GSX External Sound Card brings something to the person that needs that extra boost for sound or just wants something really cool to add to their PC set up.  The price is not bad and it gives you some extra sound quality.
