Epic Games, the creative minds behind the wildly popular Fortnite, has filed a lawsuit against one of their former testers, Ronald Sykes. According to the Fortnite devs, the tester broke a non-disclosure agreement about the release of Chapter 2.
As first reported by Polygon, the strongly-worded lawsuit was heavy with disappointment:
Apparently, Sykes took to Twitter after his time working as a tester on Chapter 2 this past September. Not only did he openly brag to friends about being able to share new details about the new season of Fortnite, but he also disclosed that players would be able to swim. As the release of Chapter 2 came closer, Sykes continued to dish out secrets on social media including images of a brand-new map.
Earlier this month, fans were devastated when all of Fortnite seemed to disappear into a black hole. The internet exploded as people began to panic about losing their skins, rank, and progress in the game so far. However, the game returned with a new passion including maps and other improvements that had been in the work for years. Epic claimed that hidden eggs had been hidden throughout the past ten seasons in lead up to this new chapter.
