Epic Games Store, until April 9, will be giving away Gone Home and Hob for free. Now, they’ve unveiled better next week’s freebie up for grabs: Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments. In order to receive the game, all that’s required is a free Epic Games Account, and then it’s yours to keep.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments will be available starting April 9 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.

It’s rather remarkable that Crimes & Punishments was released way back in September 2014, close to six years ago. It is one of multiple Sherlock Holmes titles produced by developer Frogwares.

Other titles include 2016’s The Devil’s Daughter, as well as 2012’s The Testament Of Sherlock Holmes. Throughout Crimes & Punishments, players will be challenged by six puzzling investigations, accompanied by trusted sidekick John Watson during each case.

One of the notable gameplay mechanics within Crimes & Punishments is the deduction board. Clues are drawn together to gather conclusions on a case. Awarded 7/10 by Eurogamer, their review hailed the game’s mechanics, calling it “a largely entertaining and involving detective game.”

The review adds: “You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce that this is one of the best adventures of the year,”

In the meantime, as well as Gone Home and Hob, there’s also Drawful 2 and Totally Reliable Delivery Service. These two can be claimed until April 8.

Gone Home is a first-person exploration simulator, focused on a young woman who returns to her family home empty. It was released in 2013 by Fullbright. Hob, an action-adventure title, was released by Runic Games in 2017.
