Epic Games Announces The End Of Paragon Offers Full Refund

Epic Games has sadly decided to stop supporting Paragon, their multiplayer game available on PS4 and PC via Early Access. The company has taken the decision to shut it down on April 26 after considering there wasn’t a path to make the game a viable service in the future. This follows a public statement only weeks ago in which the team addressed the slower pace of new content releases, revealing that part of the original team had been moved to support the far more successful Fortnite.

It is very sad news for players of a game that while it was far from reaching the popularity of other MOBA titles, it had still managed to gain some recognition. On the other hand, the developers have offered full refunds to all players who made any purchase of items and other content of the game, which will be conducted through the company itself and not depend on the platform.

The news have been shared via message by the Paragon Team on the official website: “We truly appreciate everything you’ve put into Paragon. We received many passionate ideas for where to take the game; the outpouring of thoughtful suggestions is another testament to this incredible community. After careful consideration, and many difficult internal debates, we feel there isn’t a clear path for us to grow Paragon into a MOBA that retains enough players to be sustainable. We didn’t execute well enough to deliver on the promise of Paragon. We have failed you — despite the team’s incredibly hard work — and we’re sorry.”

All players who wish to ask for a refund just need to head over Epic’s website and follow the instructions, although PS4 players will need to create an Epic account if necessary to start the process.

Epic’s resources will most definitely be refocused on supporting Fortnite and its successful Battle Royale mode.

Paragon is available now on PS4 and PC, and will remain active until April 26.
