The Emmy-winning actress from Netflix’s The Crown, Emma Corrin, will star in FX’s upcoming limited drama series Retreat. The FX series follows a gen Z amateur sleuth, named Darby (played by Corrin). At the invitation of an eccentric billionaire, Darby ventures to a remote resort along with eleven other people. When one of the guests dies, Darby takes it upon herself to prove it was foul play. The rest of the cast has not been announced for FX’s series Retreat.

Corrin received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the late Princess Diana on Netflix’s The Crown. She gained many accolades for her performance including a Golden Globe, Critics Choice Award, and a Primetime Emmy nomination. Now she will take on the lead for the new FX series Retreat.

From Netflix’s The OA to Retreat

The creators of Netflix’s The OA, Brit Marling, and Zal Batmanglij, are behind the making of Retreat. That series lasted three seasons before its cancellation, much to the dismay of its fans. The writers have found a new home with FX Productions for their next project. In an official statement, the president of originals at FX, Gina Balian remarked, “We are thrilled that Brit and Zal and the rest of the creative team will bring this series to life with their unique points of view and care.” Netflix’s The OA was a mystery drama series that followed Prairie (played by Brit Marling) who reappears after seven years missing, and who comes back with sight after previously being blind. Some take her reappearance as a miracle and it strikes fear in others.

Just like with Netflix’s The OA, Marling and Batmanglij will write and direct the series which they are executive producers along with Andrea Sperling.
