Insider Emily Rogers has provided a new rush of rumors about the upcoming Pokemon RPG on its way for Nintendo Switch, insisting on the theory that the game might be coming as early as 2018 on the market.
According to Rogers, who returned to talk about the matter on ResetEra, “a Pokemon game is releasing on Switch later this year. It will be an RPG with at least two versions,” something quite regular for the franchise on Nintendo 3DS.
Fuelling the rumor that it might be a remake of some older titles, she added that “I didn’t specify whether it was a core game, a spinoff series, a remake of an older game, or a Gen 8 game.”
On top of that, anyway, she said she won’t be providing more information about this topic ahead of the official announcement of the game, which is slated to be coming as early as later this month and so before the E3 2018 kicks off.
“As we wait for an announcement on the upcoming Pokemon title, which will be revealed before the end of this month, think about what Pokemon Go might mean for the future of the Pokemon series. I suspect that the naming/branding for this year’s Pokemon Switch title (there’s two versions) might raise a few eyebrows.”
So, from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like Nintendo is working on something quite easy to sell or pass over the fans of the original Pokemon series. What could it be? We’ll see if we’ll learn more at E3 or indeed this month.
