In 2017, we shared the Elgato Stream Deck with you as a great tool for streamers and we are back with the latest tool from Elgato. They now have a bigger version of the original stream deck, the Elgato Stream Deck XL.

The new Elgato Stream Deck XL comes with a stand that gives you two different options for whatever works best for the streamer.

The stand has a hollow center that enables you to run cords through it and keep them better organized and it has the Elgato logo on the back.

If you prefer the flatter look, you can remove the stand and use it at this angle. The only thing that might have made this a little better would be a more adjustable stand that gives you more than two options.

The Elgato software provides a display of the buttons just as you would see them on the stream deck and updates with very little delay.

There are several default hotkeys available that are tailored more toward streamers, however, there are customization options available to use outside of those provided as a default.

Another great feature is the multiple actions per button. For instance, if you have a process you go through to get your stream started, instead of customizing each button to do one task, you can customize one button to do the entire process. This gives you more options and room for more customized buttons.

Do you have two streamers in the house? If so, you have the ability to create multiple profiles to meet the needs of each streamer.

Verdict:

The Elgato Stream Deck XL provides an even better version of the original stream deck with more buttons and numerous possibilities for customization.

Streamers are the main target for this stream deck. Even so, you can customize the buttons to do functions in programs such as Photoshop. There are so many things you can program this stream deck to do to make your life a little easier.

If you are a streamer, this is a really good tool. It will make your stream run more effectively and smoothly. It gives you one-touch access to processes so you can focus more on entertaining and less on the functions.
