While fans are eagerly waiting for more information on the release of Elder Scrolls six, they can take solace in knowing they can soon explore Skyrim again differently and uniquely. 2020 will mark another version of Skyrim with a board game taking place in the province called Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was initially released in November of 2011 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Bethesda released an enhanced version called The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition for PS4, Xbox One, and PC five years later. Then in 2017, the Nintendo Switch got a version as well.

Modiphius’ Call to Arms will allow players to explore Dwemer ruins and Draugr tombs just like they would in Skyrim, Morrowind, or Oblivion. The wargaming set will release with a 104-page guidebook, a 44-page quest book (included with 12 missions), and a 16-page introduction. The intro is designed to place the players in the action. Just think of riding the wagon at the beginning of Skyrim that we’ve all played more than a dozen times.

While the game has yet to release, Modiphius has already designed a Dragonborn figurine for the tabletop RPG. To go along with the hero, they are making several enemies and soldiers to aid or hinder characters on their journeys. One of the first adventures characters can run through will be a build of Bleak Fall Barrows, one of the first quest areas in Skyrim.

Two other sets will include either the Imperial Legion faction and the Stormcloak faction.

For someone who has spent hours upon hours exploring Skyrim, I still haven’t managed to complete every quest; it will be exciting to jump into the setting again with the tabletop game.

Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms will release in March.
