Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware, won the Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. The ARPG game was released at the beginning of this year and was met with plenty of excitement from the gaming committee. In the game, players control a customizable player character on a journey to repair the titular Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord. The game is presented through a third-person perspective, with players freely roaming its interactive open world. Gameplay elements include combat using several types of weapons and magic spells, horseback riding and crafting. So, the game finally gets what it deserves and takes home the Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022.

Elden Ring, which garnered a pretty sizable fanbase and significant sales success since its debut, won the Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022. The game competed with A Plague Tale: Requiem, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and reached a happy ending. The title also won Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Role Playing Game awards.
