Sword of Night and Flame is one of the unique armaments, a unique Straight Sword to be specific, you can find in Elden Ring. While it is not as legendary as FromSoftware’s staple Moonlight Greatsword, Sword of Night and Flame is still a pretty popular choice among Sword users, especially if you’re running a mage build. It scales with Intelligence and Faith, requiring 24 Intelligence and Faith as well as 12 Strength and Dexterity to wield. True to its name, Sword of Night and Flame also has a flashy Night Comet attack that lets you burn any enemies standing in your way with a single swipe. No wonder it’s quite highly regarded. Here’s how you can obtain the Sword of Night and Flame, even if you haven’t scratched most of the mid-game content of Elden Ring.

Steps for the Sword of Night and Flame

You can find Sword of Night and Flame in a room somewhere in the Caria Manor area. Here’s how you can locate the exact location of the highly sought-after unique weapon from the early game:

  • (Optional) Start from the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace then head northwest until you find the Sending Gate portal.
  • (Optional) You will then be teleported to somewhere near Northern Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace.
  • (Optional) Now head northeast, passing by Kingsrealm Ruins and Road to the Manor Site of Grace, indicated by Smithing Master Iji, the giant blacksmith reading a giant book just to your left.
  • From Road to the Manor Site of Grace, go straight to the Caria Manor.
  • Once you walked past the Caria Manor gate, take left and keep walking while hugging the wall, disregarding enemies you find along the way.
  • After you see a stair ramp guarded by three Hand Spiders, head left and climb the stairs until you reach Manor Lower Level Site of Grace.
  • Go out through the door in front of you and run past the enemies on the bridge.
  • Take left at the first bridge fork.
  • Then take the right.
  • Once you’re like 2/3 way through the third bridge (when you reach the end of the bridge’s broken part), jump down to the left. You should land on a platform — look down if you’re not sure.
  • You might need to perform a running jump to reach the platform.
  • Head to the left and jump down again — be careful to not jump down straight to a stairwell.
  • Now descent the stairwell.
  • You should now arrive in the room containing a chest with the Sword of Night and Flame inside of it.
