Just like other Soulsborne games made by FromSoftware, Elden Ring is hard enough on its own, but with its open-world structure comes other struggles as well. One of these struggles is finding essential items for upgrading your weapon, like Somber Smithing Stones in the vast real of Lands Between. Finding Somber Smithing Stones 6 are hard on their own, but finding the (6) is near impossible to find, so here is where to find and obtain Somber Smithing Stone 6 in Elden Ring.
Where to Find and Obtain Somber Smithing Stone 6 in Elden Ring
Somber Smithing Stones are essential for upgrading your special weapons. Special weapons are rare and mostly drop after you defeat a boss. These weapons have their own perks, so it makes sense that upgrading them would be more complex and time-consuming than standard weapons. Finding Somber Smithing Stones is tricky, but finding the (6) is almost impossible. By finding and obtaining this stone, your weapon’s damage will be increased, which will help fight tougher boss fights in the future.
There are two locations where you can find and obtain the variant (6) of Smithing Stone. The first one comes with its trouble, so you might prefer this route if you want to kill some enemies alongside getting the stone. First, go to the northwest of the Academy and along the main road in this part of the region.

When you reach there, go to the top of the tower and pick up an Imbued Sword Key, then go to the second tower and use the key on it. This will take you to the Eternal City. Make your way down the rocks and take two rights along the stone path. This will lead you to a Lesser Crucible Knight waiting for a battle. Crucible Knights are one of the most formidable enemies in Elden Ring, so be fully prepared to kill him to obtain the Smithing Stone (6).
The less dangerous way is to go to the Altus Penisula and head northwest. From there, head to Mt. Gelmir, and once you reach there, head up to a small overlook with a lone wolf and a body in a chair. After defeating the wolf, you can find a Smithing Stone (6) among the loots.
Elden Ring is now available on PS4, Ps5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
