That’s not all a Rune Arc is good for, though. Once you claim a Great Rune from a Shardbearer, you can use a Rune Arc to activate it. This is vital if you want to get any good use out of your Great Runes. That’s because, with a Rune Arc, the Great Rune’s latent power activates so you can reap its effects.

How to Use a Rune Arc in Elden Ring
All you have to do is use the Rune Arc to get the HP boost. If you equip a Great Rune and then use the Rune Arc, it should activate the former. To equip that, you must go rest at a Site of Grace. Each Great Rune offers a different effect, so it’s fun to experiment with different ones. Note that if you die, those Great Rune benefits are gone. Also, this means you’ve now thrown away a Rune Arc. So, take care when you decide to use them.
