The Waypoint Ruins in Elden Ring is one of the first locations Tarnished are advised to visit, particularly those interested in spellcasting. The site sits on the eastern side of Limgrave, near the cliffs of Mistwood. The player can reach the Waypoint Ruins by traveling north from the Church of Elleh to the Gatefront Ruins and following the main trail southeast. Alternatively, the Tarnished could take a shortcut through Lake Agheel. However, the Flying Dragon Agheel guards this area and will deliver a quick death to unprepared adventurers. Once the player arrives at the ruins, there are several activities they can experience.

How to Complete Waypoint Ruins in Elden Ring

To complete the Waypoint Ruins in Elden Ring, travelers must first get past the Giant Poison Flower that guards the entrance to the crypt beneath. Afterward, they must take down the Mad Pumpkin Head mini-boss to gain access to Sellen, a Sorceress who will sell Sorceries to the player and is connected to a questline in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring: Is There Cross-Platform Play?

The Giant Poison Flower can be avoided or slain before entering the underground entrance. Yet, those who wish to defeat this enemy must understand several characteristics about it. First, it can spew a cloud of noxious fumes that will inflict Poison on the player and can summon harmful beams of light within a large radius. Keep in mind that both of these attacks can kill Tarnished even after the monster has been beaten. Furthermore, several minion flowers will also be in the area spewing poisonous gas. It is recommended these trash mobs be taken out first.

Next, the Mad Pumpkin Head below is simple to defeat yet requires a particular strategy. By summoning Spirit Ashes such as the Lone Wolves, the boss will stay distracted, allowing Tarnished to strike its back, the weak point of its body. However, the Mad Pumpkin Head does have a lot of HP, which means challengers must be patient as they whittle down its health. Once the boss is dead, players can interact with Sellen in the hidden room nearby and learn new Spells from her.

Elden Ring players can also do side activities at the Waypoint Ruins, such as climbing the wall near the Giant Poison Flower’s lair to acquire a Trina’s Lily. Additionally, a caravan will pass along the main trail nearby carrying a Greataxe, an excellent weapon for two-handed melee enthusiasts.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
