In Elden Ring, players who want to play as a mage build will want to pick Prophet or Confessor as their class then level up their Faith stats to increase Magic damage from Incantations. Since, like other Souls games, there are stats requirements and scaling for all weapons, you might want to pick the most optimal ones for your build from the beginning. For Elden Ring fans looking for some guidance in a weapon to focus upgrading, here are some excellent options of Elden Ring Faith weapons.

1. Bleed Weapons

Not sure if FromSoftware will patch it or not, but apparently Bleed/Hemorraghe status effect is pretty overpowered. After all, it deals a percentage from your enemies’ max HP instead of fixed numbers. It becomes even more potent if your summons can also inflict Bleed, as demonstrated in the video above. The recommended Bleed weapons are:

  • Uchigatana.
  • Great Scythe.
  • Milita Saw.
  • Reduvia.
  • And Great Star.

With that in mind, I guess this one isn’t just a suggestion for Faith-build users but also most other builds as well.

2. Uchigatana

Stats requirements:

  • Strength: 11
  • Dexterity: 15

Talking about Uchigatana, Samurai’s default weapon and one of our recommended Dex weapons, you can also use the Sacred Whetstone to turn it into a Sacred Uchigatana, giving it higher Holy damage for Faith scaling. To fully maximize its potential, get the Unsheathe Ash of War and use it with a two-handed style. You can find the weapon in the Deathtouched Catacombs.

3. Coded Sword

  • Faith: 20

It starts with B-grade Faith scaling and can eventually be upgraded to S-grade, so it’s obvious that this weapon is a perfect fit for a Faith build in Elden Ring. You’ll also love the unblockable and highly damaging Holy Blade Slash attack. You can find the Coded Sword in the Lower Capital Church in Liurnia.

4. Blasphemous Blade

  • Strength: 22
  • Dexterity: 15
  • Faith: 21

Along with the Coded Sword, Blasphemous Blade is a must-have if you’re looking for Faith weapons despite the high Strength and Dex requirement. The Taker’s Flame attack is also very good, thanks to the long range, damage, and lifesteal attribute. But keep in mind when fighting enemies that are resistant or immune to Fire damage. You’ll need to trade a Remembrance of the Blasphemous item from Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold to get it.

5. Cipher Pata

  • Faith: 30

This one is quite recommended because you can get it rather early, in one of the rooms in the Roundtable Hold area invaded by Mad Tongue Alberich. Although the stat requirement is kinda high, the Holy damage and shield piercing can destroy early-mid game enemies fast. Pretty good at PvP too if you’re fighting turtling foes.

6. Golden Halberd

  • Strength: 30
  • Dexterity: 14
  • Faith: 12

Like Blasphemous Blade, this one is good if you’re putting in points in Str, Dex, and Faith. You can get it early as well by defeating the dreaded Tree Sentinel. You’ll gain attack and defense buff when you use its Golden Vow special ability.

7. Winged Scythe

  • Strength: 16
  • Dexterity: 16
  • Faith: 24

It has a D Faith scaling, but honestly, the best part about it is the Angel’s Wing Ash of War that can stun almost any enemy. The weapon can be found in the Tobmsward Ruins, south of Limgrave, read all about it in our Winged Scythe guide.

8. Scythe

  • Strength: 14
  • Faith: 14

Found in the Cliffbottom Catacombs, this is a good choice if you barely/don’t level up your Dexterity. It has a great attack range and Bleed Build Up effect to deal huge damage when the enemy got Hemorraghed.

9. Treespear

  • Strength: 15
  • Dexterity: 22
  • Faith: 18

Thanks to its good attack range, decent damage, and the potential to be powerstanced with other Great Spear, you could use it with a Faith build. It can be found to the east of the Church of Irith Site of Grace, on a caravan at the edge of the collapsed bridge.

10. Gargoyle’s Blackblade

  • Strength: 18
  • Dexterity: 10
  • Faith: 22

This Greatsword deals huge Holy damage thanks to the D-grade Faith scaling and has a long-range special attack called the Corpse Wax Cutter.

11. Gargoyle’s Black Halberd

  • Strength: 26
  • Dexterity: 10
  • Faith: 22

If you prefer going with a Halberd (and aiming for high Str and Faith build), then pick this one instead. Both Blackblade and Black Halberd can be obtained after you beat the Black Gargoyle/Black Blade Kindred boss in the Forbidden Lands.
