Elden Ring has many weapon choices that work for players who like dealing magic damage from afar to the heavy hitters that want to get in on the action. And thanks to the Elden Ring 1.04 patch, a lot of weapon types have become a more viable gameplay option. One weapon type, the Colossal Weapons, is the heaviest weapon in the game that usually requires considerable points invested in Strength. Colossal weapons now have increased attack speed and guard boost, especially when two handing these weapon types. So for fans looking to make a build around this weapon type, here are some of the best colossal weapons in Elden Ring.
Top Elden Ring Colossal Weapons
The Ruins Greatsword Colossal Weapon
The Ruins Greatsword is an absolute beast of a weapon with an A scaling with StStrengthnd a D rank in Intelligence scaling. That additional Intelligence rank helps give it extra magical damage on top of the insane amount of physical damage. On top of that, the “Wave of Destruction” ash of war is a great ranged skill that helps players in various situations.
The Ruins Greatsword can be unlocked by defeating the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight at Redmayne Castle. After players beat Radahn, speak with Jerren in the main room and go through his dialogue options until he says he’s ready to leave the castle. Then, reset the game at the nearby grace, and this boss battle should now appear in the courtyard area where players are first introduced to Jerren for the festival.
The Giant Crusher
The Giant Crusher is a less powerful colossal weapon than the Ruins Greatsword. It sadly doesn’t have the extra magic damage and has lower damage scaling. However, if gamers aren’t interested in investing any points into Intelligence and want to focus on StStrengthhis won’t be an issue. This weapon can also be infused with different Ashes of War, making it a little more flexible than The Ruins Greatsword for players who have a different playstyle.
This weapon can be found inside a chest lying along the southern part of the wall near the Outer Wall Phantom site of grace.
Starscourge Greatsword
This weapon is perfect for fans looking for more diverse gameplay options. The Starscourge Greatsword has a mixed scaling of C for Strength, D for Dexterity, and D for Intelligence. Its skill, Starcaller Cry, helps deal with a large group of enemies. It pulls enemies closer to fans with a gravitational wave and then slams into the ground to deal a shockwave of damage to enemies.
This weapon can be earned after defeating Radahn and using Starscourge Radahn’s Rememberance to retrieve his weapon from Enia at the round table hold.
Maliketh’s Black Blade
One of the most powerful colossal weapons, but sadly also one of the hardest to get, Maliketh’s Black Blade scales primarily of D for Strength, E for Dexterity, and D for Faith. In addition, the Skill, Destined Death, throws out multiple strike attacks with an excellent range for staggering formidable enemies, even bosses.
This weapon can be found by following the Beast Clergyman’s questline and defeating Maliketh.
Elden Ring is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
