It wouldn’t be a proper Soulsborne game if it didn’t have many tough boss fights. Elden Ring is the latest game of FromSoftware set in an open-world setting for the first time. One of the toughest bosses in the game is Mohg, Lord of Blood, requiring good equipment and experience in the world of Elden Ring. So here is the guide on where to find and how to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood in Elden Ring.

Mohg, Lord of Blood Guide in Elden Ring

You can find this tough boss fight within Mohgwyn Palace. For reaching the place, you must get the Haligtree Secret Medallion and use it at the Grand Lift of Rold. It is located in the East of Leyndell through the Forbidden Lands.

Remember that Haligtree Secret Medallion is split into two-part. The right part can be found in the Village of the Albinaurics, and the left part is located on the battlements at the end of Castle Sol.

Mohg, Lord of Blood has two phases where the first one is fairly simple to hit due to its immobility. But its Blood Loss build-up can be dangerous and fatal. Nonetheless, the trick is first to study how it fights, and once you’ve learned its fight pattern, it can easily be dodged.

Once you’ve reached the 50% of Mohg’s health, he will create three marks over your head. Once he shouts “Nihil,” one of the marks will be consumed, and as a result, you will lose a huge chunk of damage.

In this stage, the best solution is to use Purifying Crystal Tear. Mix it into your Flask of Wondrous Physick, drink it, and you will gain resistance to spell damage so that you won’t lose a huge portion of your health. The next tip is quite simple, heal once Mohg consumed one of the marks. It is recommended to upgrade your Flaks of Crimson Tears to +12.

Elden Ring: How to Defeat the Royal Revenant

That’s not all. The mobility of Mohg, Lord of Blood, is much higher in the second phase. Constantly flying up and hitting the ground with his trident and splashing Bloodflame. The combos are also much longer, making it hard to avoid but not impossible.

Try to stick to light attacks and keep switching between locking and unlocking your camera. A simple mistake to step into the Bloodflame might kill you, so try to fight Mohg, Lord of Blood, mostly with an unlocked camera so you would have a good view of your surroundings.

Elden Ring is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
