It is no surprise that From Software’s latest game, Elden Ring is full of complex challenges and areas. One area that is a sort of recurring trend is From Software’s poison swamp areas, which is the Lake of Rot for Elden Ring. The Lake of Rot is a massive underground area by Lirurnia with plenty of monsters and, surprise, red rot water that will kill cocky players. Luckily enough, there is an easy way to navigate through the lake, so for fans needing extra help, here is an Elden Ring Lake of Rot Walkthrough.
Lake of Rot Elden Ring Guide
Players will hug the right-hand wall along the water bank to the edge, starting from the grace site. There should be a safe little rock island not too far off with a tall stone obelisk. Hop along the mushrooms, run straight, and step on the pressure plate to make the next pathway rise. Next, run along the stone island on the right, taking care of the giant lizard monsters that pop out of the water.
After that, there will be a couple of stone islands facing southeast that will eventually lead up to a more oversized island with a huge half-broken stone pillar. Once here, go to the other mini rock island with the stone obelisk to the south and press the next pressure plate to make the next pathway rise up. Once these are up, keep going across all the stone archway bases until fans are close to the main hallway with the two large stone torches. Quickly run across, and players will be able to proceed to the next section of the dungeon, completing the Lake of Rot Elden Ring Guide potion.
Helpful Tips
For fans who are still having trouble with the Elden Ring Lake of Rot Walkthrough, or want to find the many other secret treasures hidden in the large area, here are some other items that will be helpful.
- Preserving Boluses: These are consumable items that can be bought or crafted that will immediately cure rot buildup, so if players wait until the bar is high or right when they are afflicted, these will make all the pain go away.
- Flame, Cleanse Me: This is a useful Elden Ring incantation that can also alleviate rot buildup, it requires 12 Faith to cast, but that shouldn’t be too hard for fans to get as long as they have faith-boosting equipment pieces.
- Immunizing Horn Charm: This talisman piece can greatly boost players’ immunization stat, which means rot buildup takes a lot longer. This can be found off one of the corpses in the ant nest in Ainsel River.
- Mushroom Armor: This armor set is a funky fungus-looking lightweight armor that further increases players’ immunization. This can be found in Seethewater Cave.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
