Elden Ring has just released a few short hours ago, and already players are working hard to get through the gargantuan amount of content the game has to offer. With an absolutely colossal open world to explore and more than enough encounters for you to tackle, you’re sure to be in for quite the adventure. As you find yourself on your quest though, you’ll be sure to level your character up to unlock some better stats and things of the sort. How exactly you do this may not be clear enough though. No need to worry as, in this guide, we’ll tell you how to level up your character in Elden Ring!

How to Level Up Your Character in Elden Ring

Before you consider leveling up your stats, you’ll need runes to even level something. To get these, you simply have to play the game and take down enemies, along with using certain consumables. Keep doing this, and you’ll get yourself additional runes. Once you have those runes though, head over to the nearest Site of Grace and activate it, then simply select Level Up. Once you select this, you’ll be given a menu of your stats along with the rune costs to level up each one. Keep in mind that, as you level a particular stat, you’ll need more and more runes. As such, you’ll want to be wary of putting all your eggs in one basket. You arguably should be wary regardless, but you won’t have an easy time hyper-leveling one stat by any stretch of the imagination.

While most of you reading this will already be at the point where you can, it’s worth noting that the Level Up menu doesn’t unlock until after interacting with the first Site of Grace. After you find it, continue on until you find the Site of Grace early on in the location The First Steps. Here, an NPC will interact with you who will open up the ability to level up stats.

Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
