The Wakizashi is a Dagger in Elden Ring inherently capable of causing Blood Loss and excels in short-range melee combat. Scaling primarily with Strength and Dexterity, this weapon is initially equipped with Quickstep, but its wielder can imbue it with any Dagger-related Ash of War. The Wakizashi cannot be Powerstanced with other Daggers, but it can be paired with a second Wakizashi or a Katana-type armament. Powerstancing a Katana with this Dagger will cause attacks to consume 20% less Stamina than using two Katanas, but this advantage comes at the cost of melee reach. Finding the Wakizashi Dagger in Elden Ring
The Gaol Cave is a Caelid Dungeon in Elden Ring, located in a small rot-ridden lake below the ridge northeast of Fort Gael. To enter this location, adventurers will need two Stonesword Keys to open the entrance’s seal. Once inside, Tarnished must gain access to the mechanism to unlock Gaol Cave’s prison cells. One of these cells has the Wakizashi.

Starting from the entrance, head into Gaol Cave and activate the Site of Grace after looting the nearby chest for a Rune Arc. Continue onward through the tunnel in the northeast until reaching a larger corridor with enclosed prison cells and hanging cages. Enter the first cell doorway on the right. Follow the dark shaft until falling into a small hole. Tarnished adventurers will know they are on the right path if they have arrived at a small circular chamber with imprisoned flaming zombies. From here, follow the passage southwestward and jump off a ledge near a Stake of Marika. Go down the southern path until the end, turn right, and go up the stone-step tunnel to the north.
After getting through the rocky tunnel in Gaol Cave, Tarnished will reach a small cellar-like room with tables, chairs, and bookshelves. Loot the nearby chest to receive a Somber Smithing Stone [5]. Next, ascend the stairwell and activate the lever at the top ledge overlooking the prison. This lever opens the doors to all the cells in the Dungeon, freeing the combustible zombie mobs. From here, drop from the ledge and head into the southwestern tunnel. Drop down once more and continue southward down the passage. Investigate the first prison cell on the left to find three lootable corpses. The corpse on the right will have the Wakizashi Dagger in Elden Ring.
