Before the 1.03 Patch for Elden Ring, the Hoarfrost Stomp was one of the best Ashes of War you could put on your weapons. Speedrunners and regular players alike were using this icy stomp to eat away any and all health bars. While the recent nerf has made the ability less game-breaking, it remains a fairly good ability that players will want to get their hands on. The Icerind Hatchet comes with the Hoarfrost Stomp as its built-in Skill, but players who find the Ash of War for the ability will be able to put the move on many more weapons than just the hatchet. This guide will show you where and how to find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War in Elden Ring.
How To Get The Hoarfrost Stomp Ash Of War In Elden Ring
Luckily, getting the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War doesn’t require you to kill a big boss or anything. It is actually quite simple. You will find the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War near the Caria Manor in the northwest part of Liurnia of the Lakes. Starting from the Main Caria Manor Gate Site of Grace, go down to the small pond to the right of the gate, pictured below. Here you will find an invisible White Scarab scuttling around the water. Get your timing down and hit the Scarab to kill it, which will then drop you the Hoarfrost Stomp. The best way to do this is to see the Scarab do its path a few times and then stand in its path. You will have a much easier time just trying to hit it when it comes around to you instead of chasing it down.

This Ash of War can be equipped on all melee armaments. The Skill allows players to do a stomp (as the name suggests) and send out a cone of frost, which will do a lot of damage to enemies that are in the damage cone and will also inflict them with Frostbite, adding more damage to subsequent attacks.
Elden Ring is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
