Tarnished adventurers who’ve encountered the centipede-like creatures in Elden Ring known as Kindred of Rot will have experienced dealing with their Pest Threads, a Servants of Rot Incantation that launches a barrage of sticky threads at a target. These homing projectiles will fire from the caster’s center, flying first up into the air and then accelerating at their target. Requiring Faith 11 to cast, Pest Threads is a Faith-scaling Incantation, meaning the damage output of the Spell will primarily vary on one’s stat in Faith and the upgrade level of their Sacred Seal. To get the Pest Threads Incantation in Elden Ring, Tarnished must seek a man named Gowry.
Where To Find Pest Threads In Elden Ring
Gowry is an NPC who resides in a landmark called Gowry’s Shack within Caelid and is also the character with whom players must begin Millicent’s questline. Once Elden Ring Tarnished have progressed far enough in his daughter’s story, Gowry will become a Spell merchant and eventually have the Pest Threads Incantation as one of his available wares.

Therefore, to unlock Pest Threads from Gowry’s shop in Elden Ring, Tarnished must start Millicent’s questline by retrieving an Unalloyed Gold Needle for Gowry. This quest item is dropped by Commander O’Neil, a Field Boss located in the deep scarlet Swamp of Aeonia. Next, the protagonist will speak with Gowry and Millicent several times by reloading the area. Once Millicent leaves Caelid and relocates to the Erdtree-Gazing Hill in the Atlus Plateau, Gowry will open his shop to the player.
However, Pest Threads will only become an available Spell in Gowry’s shop once Tarnished have progressed Millicent’s story by retrieving Valkyrie’s Prosthesis for her from the Shaded Castle. Once this is done, they can return to Gowry in Caelid to purchase the Pest Threads Incantation in Elden Ring for 7,500 Runes. Pest Threads is best used on larger enemies with a generous hitbox, such as Dragons or the giant Elden Beast, the game’s final boss. Small enemies will also receive decent damage from the Incantation, but it might not be as effective due to their size.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
