There are many reasons why players love Elden Ring. Some like it because of its rich world and lore, and some like it because of its unique storytelling. But others love it only because of the boss fights. It wouldn’t be a Soulsborne game if it didn’t have tons of challenging bosses to fight and defeat. One of these bosses is the Lichdragon Fortissax. So here is the guide on how to defeat the Lichdragon Fortissax in Elden Ring.

How to Defeat the Lichdragon Fortissax in Elden Ring

Lichdragon Fortisaxx is a Legendary-class boss with four massive wings and dangerous lightning-based attacks. Fortunately, this boss fight is optional, but the reward of defeating it is tempting. Along with usual bonuses like Runes, defeating the Lichdragon Fortissax will also unlock the unique ending of The Age of Duskborn.

To find the Lichdragon Fortissax, you need to accept the questline of Fia. After you’ve got your hands on the Cursemark of Death, bring it to Fia. She will then give you the Radian Baldchain’s Blessing. Go through all of her dialogues and fast travel to the nearest spot. Then return to her once again, and you should find her sleeping. Interact with her to enter the Deathbed Dream and then commence the boss fight of Lichdragon Fortissax.

The first thing you can do is summon Spirits Ashes or ask for help from other players via multiplayer. Since Lichdragon mainly uses lightning-based attacks, it is good to find some item that negates lighting damage, like the Boltdrake Talisman.

If you typically use melee attacks, it is best to attack the dragon from behind and hit its legs. You will deal more damage with thrust attacks, so it is best to use spears. If you are using a ranged strategy, bear in mind that Lichdragon is resistant to Holy and Lightning-based damages.

The dragon mainly uses three moves that all dragons in-game use. When it starts to fly, try to get far away from it as possible since it will trigger the fire attack. Dodge-roll from its attack, and once it finishes the fire attack, it will slam to the ground, which would also cause damage if you are near it.

There are also four lightning-based attacks that are much more dangerous. The first one is when it saturates its claw with lighting and stomps the ground. The best technic to avoid damage is to dodge.

The second attack is when the dragon shoots several waves of lighting in all directions. Once you’ve noticed it starting this attack, try to get far away as possible, then roll until it ends.

The third attack is when the dragon generates several lightning bolts in the surrounding. The good thing is it would glow right before the stick, so you have a window to dodge or run away from it.

And the last one is when Lichdragon summons two lightning spears in its claws and stabs the area that causing a big explosion. It can deal the most damage, so it is best to lock on the target, making sure you will dodge at the right time.

Elden Ring is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
