One harmful status effect in Elden Ring that Tarnished will encounter during their travels is Poison, an ailment that will gradually whittle away the player’s HP once it reaches maximum buildup. Resting at a Site Grace will remove this condition and allow players to carry on in a healthy state. However, there will come moments when a resting Site is not available. Such situations include enemy mobs or bosses inflicting Poison damage on the player. Furthermore, Tarnished may find themselves in a predicament of trudging through a toxic swamp without any Sites of Grace nearby. Accordingly, players must find a remedy to cure their Poison ailment in Elden Ring.

How to Remove Poison in Elden Ring

There are two ways to cure Poison in Elden Ring. First, Tarnished can consume Neutralizing Boluses, a Consumable Item that instantly removes the harmful status effect and any associated buildup. On the other hand, players can cast Cure Poison, an Incantation in Elden Ring that provides the same benefit as Neutralizing Boluses but costs FP to do so.

To procure Neutralizing Boluses, players must purchase or craft them. These consumables and their correlating Cookbook are sold by the Nomadic Merchant located south of The First Step Site of Grace. Tarnished can encounter this NPC camped under a collapsed stone structure near the shore by the Coastal Cave’s entrance.

This Nomadic Merchant sells Neutralizing Boluses for 600 Runes each. This is the same price for his Armorer’s Cookbook [2], which contains the recipe for the Boluses. Once players have acquired this Cookbook, they can craft Neutralizing Boluses using the following ingredients:

  • Herba ×1
  • Cave Moss ×1
  • Great Dragonfly Head ×1

Alternatively, Elden Ring fans can remove Poison using the Cure Poison Incantation obtained from Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold for 1,000 Runes. Keep in mind that this spell requires Tarnished to equip a Finger Seal and have a Faith Stat of 10.

Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
