You’ll stumble along plenty of NPCs with various quests throughout your journey across the Lands Between. With the NPC Shabriri, how you complete his questline will determine what ending you get in Elden Ring. So, it’s essential to weigh your options during this quest before making any final decisions.
How to Complete Shabriri’s Questline in Elden Ring
Shabriri, unlike some other NPCs, doesn’t have a difficult questline to complete in Elden Ring. However, a single choice will turn your game on its head and force you into a single ending.
So, who is Shabriri? Well, he isn’t just any NPC. If he looks familiar, that’s because he possesses the body of the now-dead Bloody Finger Hunter Yura.
In any case, you can find Shabriri the moment you arrive at the Mountaintops of the Giants. He waits near the Zamor Ruins Site of Grace. He never moves either.
Now, there are two approaches here.
For a quick finish to this Elden Ring questline, you can fight and kill Shabriri. This way, you can quickly acquire the Ronin’s Set armor, the same set worn by Yura.
However, for a longer questline, listen to Shabriri as he convinces you to meet with and embrace the Three Fingers. He pushes this point as a way to save Melina as it ensures she won’t have to burn the Erdtree by sacrificing herself.
If you accept Shabriri’s questline, you’ve begun your journey to cement a specific Elden Ring ending.
Find the Three Fingers below Subterranean Shunning-Grounds. This NPC is near the Cathedral of the Forsaken.
To open the door and continue forward, you must remove your clothes. If you’ve already done Hyetta’s quest, she’ll be waiting for you nearby and inform you of this. Note, doing this will have Hyetta offer to become your new maiden. This is because Melina will abandon you once you have the Three Fingers’ fingerprint seared into your flesh.
After meeting Three Fingers, Shabriri will vanish, leaving the Ronin’s Set armor in his place.
If you do this quest before you fight Hoarah Loux, you can use Shabriri as a gold summon for the fight. This is true even if you kill Shabriri.
Shabriri’s Questline and Elden Ring Endings
If you decide to meet Three Fingers, you’ll become the new host of the Frenzied Flame. Do all this prior to going to the Forge of the Giants, and you can make certain that Melina survives since you will light up the Erdtree.
This places you on the Lord of the Frenzied Flame ending. It doesn’t matter what else you’ve done in the game, either. If you have the Frenzied Flame, you’re stuck with this ending.
It’s a rather depressing ending, too, one we won’t spoil completely here if you still want to check it out for yourself.
There is one thing you can do to prevent it, though. If you’ve gotten Miquella’s needle after defeating Malenia, the item allows you to remove the flame mark. It’s a permanent reversal process, too, so be sure you don’t want the Lord of the Frenzied Flame ending before you use it.
