Several NPCs can be found in the Lands Between that have their own side quest, with some even affecting the ending that you can get to the game. One such quest involves the character Hyetta, a blind woman who wishes to be a Finger Maiden. While her questline isn’t necessary to complete like Ranni, her story does tie into the Frenzied Flame ending. For those who wish to bring chaos to the world and gain more story details as they do so, Hyetta’s questline is definitely one that should be prioritized. This guide will provide a full walkthrough on how to complete Hyetta’s Questline in Elden Ring.
How To Complete Hyetta’s Questline In Elden Ring
NOTE: This questline ends with the player interacting with the Three Fingers and accepting the Frenzied Flame. Taking on the Frenzied Flame will lock you into the Frenzied Flame Ending. You are able to opt-out of the ending if you finish Millicent’s questline and help her in her final battle. She will provide you with the Unalloyed Gold Needle, which can be used on the Scarlet Aeonia left in Malenia, Blade of Miquella’s boss arena after you reload the zone upon defeating her. Using the Needle on the Scarlet Aeonia will give you Miquella’s Needle, which you will need to use in Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena at Crumbling Farum Azula in order to get out of the ending.
Step 1: Irina Quest and Shabriri Grapes
The first thing that you will need to do is head to Weeping Peninsula to do the sidequest for the NPC, Irina. Just across the Bridge of Sacrifice, You will find the woman with bandages around her eyes sitting on the side of the road. She will ask you to deliver a letter to her father Edgar at Castle Morne to the south. Accept this task and head to the castle. Once you take the elevator to the castle’s courtyard, make your way past the pile of corpses and pass the Pumpkin Head enemy then go to the right. Take the ladder up to the top of a wall and head to the right across a bridge. To the left will be a collection of barrels with a ladder leading down to another wall. Across this wall is another tower that has Edgar sitting atop it.
Giving Edgar the letter and then completing the area by defeating Leonine Misbegotten will have Edgar return to his daughter, who is now dead. This quest needs to be completed to get Edgar to invade you at another location in order to get an item called a Shabriri Grape, which is essential to completing Hyetta’s questline in Elden Ring. You will need to travel to Ravenger’s Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes, where you will be invaded by Edgar the Revenger. Defeating him will grant you the Banished Knight’s Halberd, including the Shabriri Grape. For those who want to skip this process, you can kill Edgar at Castle Morne. Reload the area and go where he died to pick up the Shabriri Grape.
Hyetta Location #1: Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace, Liurnia of the Lakes
Your first interaction with Hyetta will be at the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace just behind Stormveil Castle at the start of Liurnia of the Lakes. Rest at the Site of Grace, and Hyetta will spawn, allowing you to begin. Exhaust her dialogue with Hyetta, who will ask you to get her a Shabriri Grape. This guide will go off the assumption that you have killed Edgar and already have a Shabiri Grape, though there will also be a section below that tells you where to find a nearby Grape for Hyetta. Giving Hyetta the Grape, she will say that she sees the distant light that will guide her on her journey. She will reward you with the “As You Wish” gesture and disappear when you reload the area.
The Shabriri Grape near Hyetta is found in a passage close to the Grace that leads into Stormveil Castle. Behind some bushes is a passage you likely took to get to the Grace after beating Godrick the Grafted. Through the entrance, you will find a Frenzied spirit contorting near the back wall. Next to it is the Shibiri Grape.
Hyetta Location #2: Purified Ruins, Liurnia of the Lakes
The next place you will find Hyetta is at the Purified Ruins in the eastern part of Liurnia, southwest of the Liurnia Highway North Site of Grace. You will find her overlooking the lake itself at the location on the map pictured below. Once again, give her a Shabriri Grape to progress her quest. If you gave her Edgar’s Grape at the first location, you can give her the Grape found in Stormveil to continue the quest. If you need a Grape, there is one found at the Purified Ruins at the large ruin directly east of where you found Hyetta. There is a staircase covered by wood that you will find the Shabriri Grape at the bottom of, sitting next to a chest.
Hyetta Location #3: Gate Town Bridge, Liurnia of the Lakes
The next place that Hyetta will travel to in her questline is next to the Great Bridge Site of Grace, again in the eastern part of Liurnia. This is where she will ask you for one last Shabriri Grape. This one will either be the one from Edgar or the one from Purified Ruins if you are following the path that has been explained so far. She will ask you what these grapes actually are. Tell her the truth, that they are human eyeballs, and exhaust her dialogue. Then reload the area and talk to her again. Reload again, and she should be gone. If not, double-check that her dialogue is exhausted and reload.
Hyetta Location #4: Bellum Church, Liurnia of the Lakes
You will next find Hyetta at Bellum Church near the Lift of Dectus. This time, she will not ask you for a Shabriri Grape, but a Fingerprint Grape an eye of someone who has been touched by the Three Fingers. Luckily, there is such a person just up the mountain from the Bellum Church. To the right of the Lift of Dectus is a path that leads to the Frenzy-Flaming Tower, a structure that will inflict madness on you when the Eye of Sauron-like Frenzied Flame sees you from atop the tower. Beyond the tower is the Frenzied Flame Village, which you need to pass through to reach your final destination: The Church of Inhibition.
Upon reaching the Church of Inhibition, you will be invaded by the NPC Festering Fingerprint Vyke. The enemy will use a significant number of Frenzied incantations and will wield Vyke’s War Spear that is infused with Frenzied damage. Defeat Vyke to get his weapon as well as a Fingerprint Grape. Return to the Bellum Church and give Hyetta the Fingerprint Grape. She will move to her last location, though it will take a lot for the player to find Hyetta again and continue her questline.
Elden Ring: How to Complete Latenna’s Questline
Step 2: Enter the Subterrain Shunning Grounds, Defeat Mohg the Omen
The next step in Hyetta’s questline, You will need to reach the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, a hidden location found beneath Leyndell, The Royal Capital. Starting from the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace, head to the northeast under the dragon corpse and down a ladder to reach the ash-laden streets of the city. A short distance to the northeast at the bottom of the ladder is a water well that will lead down to the Shunning-Grounds. If you have already finished Crumbling Farum Azula, the path to the Shunning-Grounds is much simpler as the circular entrance on the main street of the Capital will be open; you can enter here. You will need to reach the area called the Forsaken Depths to continue the questline. This area is a maze of different pathways, but the path to the end of Hyetta’s questline is found behind the zone’s boss, Mohg the Omen. This boss is similar to Mohg the Shardbearer boss found in the Mohgwyn’s Palace area, though it lacks his second winged phase.
Step 3: Hyetta and the Three Fingers; Take the Frenzied Flame
Once you defeat Mohg, you will need to hit the alter behind the chest found in the boss arena. This will open up a path down into the Frenzied Flame Proscription, which is where you will need to perform a platform puzzle using wooden beams and coffins jutting out from the walls to descend deeper beneath the Captial. At the bottom, you will fall through the floor to bring you just outside the chamber of the Three Fingers, where you will once again meet Hyetta and be able to wrap up her questline. Talking to her, she will explain how to accept the Frenzied Flame from the Three Fingers, and you can once again speak with Hyetta again to learn more about the Frenzied Flame and will then be prompted to touch her. This will bestow part of the Flame to her. Reload the area, and you will be able to pick up the Frenzied Flame Seal, a seal that enhances incantations of the Frenzied Flame. This will bring Hyetta’s questline in Elden Ring to a close.
