Boggart, also known as Blackguard or Big Boggart, is a merchant NPC in Elden Ring involved in Rya’s and Dung Eater’s questlines. Tarnished adventurers can first encounter Boggart at the Boilprawn Shack, north of the Scenic Isle Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes. To begin his tale, players must first speak with Rya, who can be found beneath the pavilion beside the nearby Birdseye Telescope. She will request that the Tarnished protagonist retrieve her necklace from a thug, referring to Blackguard. Therefore, to start Blackguard Big Boggart’s questline in Elden Ring, purchase Rya’s necklace from him at the shack for 1,000 Runes.

After buying Rya’s necklace from Boggart in Elden Ring, players will be able to purchase an unlimited supply of Boiled Prawns for 600 Runes each. This consumable will boost Physical Damage Negation by +15% for 60 seconds. Tarnished will also receive the Spread Out Gesture as a bonus reward from Blackguard.
Elden Ring: How to Complete Gurranq’s Quest
Before the boss fight with Magma Wyrm Makar in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, Tarnished adventurers can reencounter Boggart as a summonable ally. Next, Blackguard will relocate to his final location within the moat north of Leyndell in Altus Plateau. This portion of the moat is also where players will face Dung Eater during his questline. Here, players will be able to purchase an unlimited supply of Boiled Crab from Boggart for 600 Runes each. This consumable is an upgraded variant of the Boiled Prawn, buffing Physical Damage Negation by +20% for 60 seconds.
Once Tarnished have released Dung Eater out of his cell, they can return to Boggart in Elden Ring to unlock some new dialogue and progress his questline. Reload the area and converse with Blackguard for a final time before his spirit expires, leaving behind Blackguard’s Iron Mask, Iron Ball, Blackguard’s Bell Bearing, and a Seedbed Curse.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
