Iron Fist Alexander is the iconic Living Jar NPC in Elden Ring whom Tarnished can first encounter in Limgrave atop the bluff near Saintsbridge. Stuck deep in the earth, he will request that Tarnished strike him several times from the rear to get him out. Once free, he can be reencountered in Gael Tunnel, a Dungeon south of the Smoldering Church in Caelid. The Jar will speak about his plans to travel to Redmane Castle and take part in the Radahn Festival, a boss battle that Tarnished must complete to progress the main campaign. This event must occur in order for players to officially begin Alexander’s questline in Elden Ring.
Completing Alexander’s Questline In Elden Ring
After defeating the Starscourge General, Elden Ring players can meet Iron Fist Alexander in West Liurnia, south of the Carian Study Hall. If he does not appear here, Tarnished must ensure they exhaust his dialogue on the battlefield where the battle with Radahn took place.
Elden Ring: How to Complete Rya’s Questline
Like before in Limgrave, Alexander will be stuck in the ground, requiring the protagonist’s help to be freed. This time, Tarnished will need an Oil Pot to dislodge the Iron Fist from his hole. This throwable item and its recipe Cookbook can be purchased from the Abandoned Merchant in Siofra River. After aiding the witty Living Jar again, he will relocate to the lava pool lair of the Magma Wyrm in Mt. Gelmir. Exhaust his dialogue to have him move for a final time to Crumbling Farum Azula. Keep in mind that Alexander can be summoned during the Fire Giant fight in the Mountaintops of the Giants, but this event isn’t necessary to progress his questline in Elden Ring.
Alexander’s questline in Elden Ring concludes as a final showdown atop a large piece of floating debris accessible from the Dragon Temple Lift in Azula. Once defeated, he will drop the Shard of Alexander and Alexander’s Innards, marking the end of his story.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
