With the massive world FromSoftware has created for fans, it’s easy for Elden Ring fans to miss out on some areas of the game. However, some areas are more crucial than others, and fans will have a hard time progressing if this is skipped. One of these areas is Fort Haight, located in the southeastern section of Limgrave. Fort Haight is essential not only for advancing one character’s questline but also for the important items and skills inside. So for fans needing help navigating their way around, here is an Elden Ring Fort Haight walkthrough.
Fort Haight Location
The two ways players can reach Fort Haight are either trekking through the bear-infested Mistwoods or using Torrent to approach the Fort Haight location from the south. Whichever way players approach the area, be sure to activate the site of grace located along the right-hand side of the fort. It should be along the Rock wall right before the slope up into the castle.
Fort Haight Guide
When approaching Fort Haight up the ramp, use Torrent and quickly dash it. An enemy manning a ballista at the top of the wall will snipe enemies from afar. Run to the right-hand side of the Fort to be out of the sniper’s range, and be sure to grab the Golden Seed before walking up the stairs inside.
If gamers are by themselves, they also can call in a summon for backup, a preferable one this early being the lone wolves. Fans can expect the usual encounter of Stormveil knights around the exterior, but be sure to take out the Mad Pumpkin enemy before entering the castle. It’s ideal for fighting Mad Pumpkin in a wide-open area, so players have more space to dodge its deadly headbutt attacks.
Once it’s taken care of, head inside and dispose of the guards with a ranged weapon. There will also be some rats hiding in the bushes on the ground, so look out for those. There will be some stairs leading to the very top, but check out the empty room first for proceeding. There is a Weathered Straight Sword and a Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook here. However, be careful not to rush inside since two enemies will try to sneak attack cocky gamers.
Now fans can finally walk up the last set of stairs and take their revenge on the enemy manning the ballista to the left. Once he’s killed, go up to the top, and gamers will notice a stronger soldier with a great shield. This enemy will use deadly bloodless attacks, so try to fight it from far away if possible. Or, use summons to distract the knight and hit it from behind. It will drop the Bloody Slash Ash of War that can be equipped onto weapons.
After this knight is defeated, players have to go up the ladder in the tower to the right of the stairs. At the very top will be half of the key to using the Grand Lift of Dectus, which is used to progress into the Atlas Plateau. Grabbing all these complete the Elden Ring Fort Haight walkthrough.
Kenneth Haight
Kenneth Haight is the owner of Fort Haight, who was driven out of his castle. He is hiding on top of a collapsed tower further north from Mistwoods. Players can either choose to speak to him before or after defeating all the enemies inside, the order doesn’t matter. Once fans have exhausted all his dialogue options, he will travel back to his castle. Gamers can then speak to him at Fort Haight to receive another reward for clearing out his castle.
