The highly anticipated Elden Ring is still a couple of days away, and developers have already released patch notes for updates 1.01 and 1.02 being applied on day one. The changes being made to the action RPG aren’t massive but focus on improving game performance, balance, text corrections, and a few other aspects of the game.

Elden Ring has been making headlines all week. Still, in exciting news, as the game’s embargo was lifted, the upcoming Souls-style RPG became the highest-rated game on Openciritc ever. This title was taken away from Nintendo’s Super Mario Odyssey, which previously held the top spot since its 2017 launch. Other names on the list of top ten best-rated games include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Elden Ring has won over critics before its release, creating even more hype for the From Software title. Funnily enough, excitement for the upcoming game is so strong a company in Japan reportedly plans to give all of its employees the day off when Elden Ring launches. Those who complete the game and become Elden Lord even get the following Monday off.

Check out the patch notes for both updates 1.01 and 1.02 coming to Elden Ring on day one of its release.

The game’s main objective has players locate all of the Ring’s scattered shards in an attempt to restore it. Whoever completes this task is dubbed Elden Lord.
