Coastal Cave is a small linear cavern in Elden Ring that serves as the passageway to reach the Church of Dragon Communion. The church sits on an isolated island off the shores of southeastern Limgrave. Since Tarnished adventurers are unable to swim, it is impossible to get to this island without going through Coastal Cave. This Elden Ring Dungeon features a single tunnel that leads to a boss chamber where players must face two Demi-Human Chiefs and their small chimp-like army. Defeating these Demi-Human beasts will reward Tarnished with Tailoring Tools and the Sewing Needle in Elden Ring, both of which can be used for Boc the Seamster’s questline.
How to Complete Coastal Cave in Elden Ring
To complete Coastal Cave in Elden Ring, Tarnished travelers must defeat the Demi-Human Chief duo-boss of the Dungeon. After entering the boss chamber, only one of the chiefs will be alerted, as long as players stay within the first area. Use Spirit Ashes to distract the nearby ADDS and punish the bosses whenever their knives get stuck in the ground.
Elden Ring: Highroad Cave Walkthrough
Both of the Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring share the same moveset. In other words, their attack styles are identical, and neither has special abilities. Therefore, Tarnished should be able to manage the boss fight by facing the duo one at a time and punishing the enemies whenever they get stuck. However, be wary that they can cover ground surprisingly quickly, which might catch ranged and magic users off guard. Once defeated, the boss duo of Coastal Cave in Elden Ring will drop the Sewing Needle and Tailoring Tools.
The Tailoring Tools can be used to perform armor alterations at Sites of Grace for 500 Runes. If this item is given to Boc the Seamster during his questline, he will alter the player’s clothes for free. As for the Sewing Needle, this time is essential for advancing the Seamster’s story. For those unfamiliar, Boc is a friendly Demi-Human found near the Murkwater Bridge in Limgrave. After exhausting his dialogue, he will give the protagonist Mushrooms ×10 and relocate to Coastal Cave. Near the cave’s Site of Grace, players can find Boc lying on the ground, groaning in pain. To progress his quest, give him the Sewing Needle acquired from the Demi-Human Chiefs in Elden Ring. This action can be done even if the player has already defeated the duo boss before meeting Boc in Coastal Cave.
